— As GDI Takes PVC Sensitization and Mobilization Rally To Emohua LGA
The chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd says the people of the area will stand wherever Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike stands ahead of the 2023 general election in Nigeria.
He said registered voters across the 14 political wards in Emohua LGA will effectively utilize their permanent voters cards in the 2023 general election in favor of Gov Wike’s political interest both in Rivers State and Nigeria at large, to reciprocate the love shown to the people of the area by the governor’s administration.
Speaking at a one day sensitization and mobilization rally for the ongoing continuous voters registration exercise tagged; ‘Operation Show Your PVC’ , organized by the Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI) on Sunday, the council chairman said Emohua LGA has always been strategic in the politics of Rivers State because of the political awareness in the area, reassuring the leadership of GDI that the people of the area will continue to stand with the group’s grand patron and governor of Rivers State, H.E Ezenwo Nyesom Wike as Nigerians prepare for another general election in 2023.
Dr. Lloyd said the people of Emohua LGA cannot afford to work against the directive of Governor Nyesom Wike, whose administration has immensely benefited the local government area, stressing that the only way to repay the governor and political leader for his love to the people of Emohua LGA was to support his political interest in 2023.
He charged members of GDI across Emohua LGA to visit the nooks and crannies of the LGA to sensitize and mobilize residents of their respective communities, friends, religious and social club members who are not registered voters to participate in the continuous voters registration exercise, with a view to securing their permanent voters cards ahead of 2023 general election, emphasizing that it is only the permanent voters cards that can change the bad leadership in Nigeria and elect a government that will reposition the country.
Speaking further, the Emohua council Boss noted the contribution and support of the Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI) to Gov Wike’s successes in Politics, applauding the political pressure group for always standing strong behind their grand patron.
The chief of staff Rivers State Government House, Chief Engr Chukwuemeka Woke, the representative of Emohua constituency in the state assembly, Hon Sam Ogeh, erstwhile chief of staff Rivers State House House, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh, Chairman of Emohua LGA PDP caucus, Chief Paul Wonodi and other notable political leaders in Emohua LGA took turns to express their appreciation to Gov Nyesom Wike for his magnanimity to the people of Emohua LGA, reassuring the governor and the leadership of Grassroot Development Initiative of the unflinching support of the people of Emohua LGA to the Governor’s directive in 2023.
The 2023 Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Joseph Fubara expressed satisfaction with the number of GDI supporters at the rally, stressing that Emohua LGA has always been strategic in the politics of Rivers State because it hosts a good number of prominent politicians who has contributed a lot to the development of Rivers State.
Sir Sim Fubara said he was not surprised to see the crowd of people at the Emohua sensitization and mobilization rally because he believed in the leaders of the area but urged the people to take the message of voters registration to their respective communities, with a view to increasing the number of registered voters in the area ahead of the 2023 general election.
The president general GDI, Chief Bright Amaewhule and the deputy speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Edison Ehie in their separate remarks expressed satisfaction with the mobilization at the rally, while acknowledging the contribution of Emohua local government area to the growth of the grassroot development initiative.
The rally which took place at State school I Rumuji Town, also featured solidarity speeches from the assembly candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Allwell Onyesoh (Rivers-East senatorial district), Barr. Boniface Sunday Emerengwa (Ikwerre/ Emohua federal constituency) and Chief Mrs. Justina Emeji (Emohua constituency).
The deputy governorship candidate of PDP, Prof. Mrs Ngozi Ordu and the state secretary of PDP, Dr. Benibo George, leader of Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Martins Amaewhule and other notable assembly members also graced the rally.
The chairman of Emohua local government area was accompanied by the vice chairman, Hon Mrs. Edna Nyeche, the leader of Emohua legislative council, Hon Mrs. Love Nyenke and other principal officers of the local government council.
